This degree program for professionals offers you the opportunity to earn a prestigious Crummer MBA while providing you the flexibility to attend nearly half of your classes online.  You choose which course sessions you will attend in-person and online for each course.

Program Overview

The Flex MBA program is a two-year program designed for students with a wide range of educational and professional experience that mirrors what you find in the workplace. The program enables students to continue working and applying their new skills while earning their MBA. *No GMAT/GRE is required. However, we may ask the applicant to provide a test score to strengthen their application package to help ensure success within the program.

The Flex MBA program starts in August and January with classes held simultaneously on campus and online. August start classes are on Monday and Wednesday evening, January start classes are on Tuesday and Thursday evenings (6:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.). Students may choose to attend classes virtually for up to 45% of each individual course, with the flexibility to decide which specific course sessions they will attend in-person and online.

Concentrations

Upon completion of the core courses, Flex MBA students will have the ability to achieve an optional concentration in one of the following fields of study:

  • Business Analytics
  • Entrepreneurship
  • Finance
  • Marketing

Elective classes are shared with Professional MBA students; and therefore, some elective courses may only be taken under the Professional MBA format, which requires in-person attendance at all times.  While you may choose electives in this format that appeal to your interests, you are not required to complete any such courses to complete your degree program requirements. Many elective offerings are available to you in the Flex MBA format. Individual elective course offerings can be affected by demand and faculty availability.

Entrepreneurship Concentration

Closely aligned with Crummer’s renowned Center for Advanced Entrepreneurship, the Entrepreneurship Concentration allows you to develop skills in entrepreneurial thought and action, effective oral and written communication, capitalizing on discovered opportunities, and new business creation and growth. Interdisciplinary electives let you focus on negotiation, international venturing, operational innovation, or starting your own company with mentoring from successful entrepreneurs. You will learn how to identify goals and learn strategies for facilitating the evolution of those goals, preparing you to start a business or bring entrepreneurial skills to an established company.

Concentration Requirements
At least 6 credits from the following:

  • ENT 608: New Venture Creation (3 credits)
  • ENT 613: Raising Capital for Entrepreneurial Ventures (3 credits)
  • ENT 614: Commercializing Technology and Science (3 credits)
  • ENT 615: The Entrepreneurial Venture (3 credits)

At most 3 credits from the following:

  • ENT 607: Social Entrepreneurship (3 credits)
  • ENT 616: Social Entrepreneurship Ecosystem Development (1.5 credits)
  • MGT 611: Negotiations in Business (3 credits)
  • MKT 606: Strategic Marketing (3 credits)
  • MKT 613: Strategic Sales Leadership (3 credits)

Finance Concentration

You can obtain a finance concentration by completing nine elective credits beyond FIN 501 (FIN 502 for EAMBA program) with at least six credit hours with FIN designation.

Crummer MBA graduates have followed many different financial career paths – all of which involve raising money, investing money, or helping others manage money. Within the finance concentration, Crummer also offer the following curriculum tracks: the Corporate Finance Track and the Investment Analysis and Portfolio Management Track. The recommended courses listed here are the courses that the finance faculty recommends preparing for a career in the respective field. The supplemental courses would give depth and breadth to your preparation.

Concentration Requirements
You can obtain a finance concentration by completing nine elective credits beyond FIN 501 (FIN 502 for EAMBA program) with at least six credit hours with FIN designation.

Corporate Finance Track
The corporate financial manager directs all the financial operations of the firm. This track prepares you to understand the complexities of corporate finance, including raising funds from public and private sources; evaluating spending opportunities in domestic, developed, and emerging markets; employing risk management techniques including derivatives; managing global cash flows and exchange rate risks; and using corporate financial policy to advance your firm’s strategic objectives.

Recommended Elective Courses:

  • FIN 601: Applied Financial Management (3 credits)
  • FIN 607: Mergers and Acquisitions (3 credits)
  • INTL 603: Global Financial Decision Making (3 credits)
  • FIN 611: Financial Modeling (3 credits)

Supplemental Elective Courses:

  • FIN 605: Derivatives and Risk Management (3 credits)
  • ACCT 614: Forensic Accounting (3 credits)

Investment Analysis and Portfolio Management Track
Investment professionals analyze capital markets using a variety of asset valuation and management techniques. This track prepares you for a career in the investment profession as a financial analyst and portfolio manager with mutual funds, private money managers, brokerage firms, trust departments, banks, and insurance companies. Courses in this track also prepare you to better understand financial analysts and interpret their external valuations. Investment students may want to consider pursuing the CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) designation while at Crummer. Details are available from any finance faculty member.

Recommended FIN Elective Courses (at least six credits from below list):

  • FIN 603: Security Analysis and Portfolio Management (3 credits)
  • FIN 605: Derivatives and Risk Management (3 credits)
  • FIN 609: Managing Global Portfolios (prerequisite FIN 603) (3 credits)
  • FIN 611: Financial Modeling (3 credits)

Recommended Supplemental Elective Courses (may take beyond six credits of FIN electives to complete 9 credit requirement):

  • INTL 603: Global Financial Decision Making (3 credits)
  • ECO 601: Country Risk Analysis (3 credits)

Marketing Concentration

Crummer MBAs with a concentration in marketing can choose a career path that allows them to work in customer insights and analytics, strategic marketing, branding, sales, marketing research, or management consulting. You will gain the cutting-edge marketing skills you need to help a company grow, strategically differentiate itself, and sustain a loyal customer base. In addition to elective offerings, Crummer works in partnership with local companies to offer a highly experiential learning environment, providing you with exposure to various marketing cases, client-based projects, and interdisciplinary opportunities outside of the classroom.

Concentration Requirements
To gain a Marketing Concentration, students must take three of the Marketing Electives listed below:

  • MKT 606: Strategic Marketing (3 credits)
  • MKT 613: Strategic Sales Leadership (3 credits)

Entrepreneurship

The Center for Advanced Entrepreneurship provides Crummer MBA students with a variety of practical experiences, both in and out of the classroom, that relate to successful entrepreneurship. Programs are designed to connect our students and alumni with advanced entrepreneurs in order to gain real-world insight and experience that will assist them in their future endeavors. All of Rollins Entrepreneurship faculty have started, purchased or run a successful business.

The Center’s efforts ensure that Crummer MBA students are prepared for entrepreneurial thought and action, able to apply what they’ve learned in a business setting and engage in the critical, creative thinking essential to entrepreneurial success.

Leadership

Nonprofit & Philanthrophy

The regionally renowned Edyth Bush Institute for Philanthropy & Nonprofit Leadership offers workshops and certificate programs that can help you if you are thinking about a career in the nonprofit sector. Crummer MBA students are eligible to take workshops for as little as $10 each. Sign up as a member on the institutes’s website and choose the Rollins College Student/Staff/Faculty Account. This will allow you to sign up for programs and events right through the website.

A bachelor’s degree is required, and at least two years of professional work experience is preferred. While the GMAT is not required for those students who have more than a year of professional work experience, other factors such as educational background and performance are considered.

The total tuition for the Flex MBA program class beginning in Fall 2024 is $63,898 (the per credit hour cost is $1,540/hour). The Flex MBA Program is priced as a complete package, and tuition is guaranteed not to increase for students who remain in their entrance class. Tuition covers the cost of all course offerings. Tuition does not cover the cost of books, MBA association fee, parking decal, supplies, and some travel expenses associated with the Global Business Experience. Non-refundable deposit: $500 – If you accept our offer and enroll in the program, your non-refundable deposit will be credited to your first term tuition.
